In a small bowl, mix warm (not hot) milk with yeast, 1 tbsp sugar, and 1 tbsp flour. Let it rest for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Step 2: Make the Dough
In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and stir until dough forms. Knead into a smooth ball.
Step 3: First Rise
Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for 30–45 minutes until doubled in size.
Step 4: Shape the Donuts
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 3 cm thick. Cut into circles using a donut cutter or glass. Place on a lined tray and let rise again for 20–30 minutes.
Step 5: Make the Chocolate Cream
In a bowl, mix powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. In a saucepan, heat coconut milk and chocolate until melted. Add vanilla, then mix into the dry ingredients. Beat until smooth.
Step 6: Fry the Donuts
Heat oil to 180°C. Fry donuts for about 30 seconds on each side or until golden. Drain on paper towels.
Step 7: Cool & Fill
Let cool 10–15 minutes. Fill a piping bag with the chocolate cream and use a narrow tip to fill each donut.
Step 8: Finish & Serve
Dust with powdered sugar before serving. Enjoy fresh!
