Ingredients

  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup wine white or rosé works best
  • 1⅔ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar optional
  • 1 dash of salt
  • 1 package lokum Turkish delight, about 10–11 pieces

For coating:

  • ½ cup powdered sugar

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

Step 2: Combine Wet Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, combine the wine and vegetable oil.

Step 3: Add Dry Ingredients

  • Gradually stir in the flour and baking powder. Then, add the sugar, vanilla sugar (if using), and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms.

Step 4: Roll Out the Dough

  • Roll the dough out to about 1–2 cm thickness.

Step 5: Cut and Fill

  • Cut the dough into triangle-shaped strips. Place a piece of Turkish delight on the wider end of each triangle and roll toward the tip to form croissant shapes.

Step 6: Prepare for Baking

  • Transfer the croissants onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

Step 7: Bake

  • Bake for 25 minutes or until golden.

Step 8: Coat with Sugar

  • Let the croissants cool slightly, then roll each one in powdered sugar to coat.
  • These croissants are best enjoyed the same day, but they keep well for a few days, too.
