- 2½ cups 300g all-purpose flour + 1 tbsp
- 4 tbsp sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- ⅔ cup 150 ml warm water
- 7 g dry yeast 1 packet
- ⅓ cup 65 ml oil or 120g vegan margarine (for croissant-like texture)
- 12 tsp jam of your choice e.g. blackberry, raspberry, apricot
For brushing:
- 2 tbsp soy milk or other plant milk
Step 1: Activate the Yeast
In a small bowl, mix the warm water, yeast, 1 tbsp flour, and 1 tbsp sugar. Let it rest for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Step 2: Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, mix the flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add in the yeast mixture and oil (or soft margarine). Stir and knead until a smooth dough forms.
